Terms of Use

Effective date: May 20, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of AssemblyFlow ("Service", "we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. About AssemblyFlow

AssemblyFlow is operated as a pro bono volunteer effort by a small group of contributors. There is no commercial entity associated with the Service at this time. We do not charge for the Service, and we do not run advertising on it. If we later form an organising entity, we will update these Terms and notify users in advance.

2. Eligibility

The Service is intended for adult members and officers of Bahá'í Local Spiritual Assemblies. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at admin@assemblyflow.org if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Your content

You and your Assembly retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service (meeting agendas, minutes, correspondence, action items, and other Assembly records). By submitting content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display it solely to provide the Service to you and your Assembly. We do not claim any ownership of your content and will not use it for any purpose other than operating the Service for the Assembly that produced it.

6. Google services integration

If you connect a Google account, you authorize AssemblyFlow to interact with Google Calendar on your behalf as described in our Privacy Policy. You may revoke this access at any time through your Google Account settings. Your use of Google services through AssemblyFlow is also subject to Google's Terms of Service.

7. Confidentiality

You acknowledge that the platform may be used to store sensitive and confidential information pertaining to Assembly members and their deliberations. You agree to use the platform in a manner consistent with the confidentiality obligations incumbent on members of a Local Spiritual Assembly, and not to share access credentials or export confidential content to unauthorized parties.

8. Service availability

The Service is currently offered in early access without a service-level commitment. We make no guarantees of uptime, feature availability, or data durability, though we make reasonable efforts to maintain all three. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with reasonable notice where practicable.

9. Intellectual property

All software, design, and content comprising the Service (excluding your content) is owned by the contributors to the AssemblyFlow project or by our licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you a licence to use the AssemblyFlow name, marks, or branding outside the Service.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or any warranty regarding the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or timeliness of the Service. Because AssemblyFlow is operated by volunteers and provided without charge, you accept that the Service may at any time be unavailable, contain errors, or be discontinued.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the contributors to AssemblyFlow shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, business, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. The total aggregate liability of the AssemblyFlow contributors to you, for any cause of action arising out of these Terms or your use of the Service, shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the contributors to AssemblyFlow from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or rights of a third party through use of the Service.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request that your account and associated data be deleted by writing to admin@assemblyflow.org. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you materially violate these Terms or if continued provision of the Service to you would compromise other users or the integrity of the Service.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state and federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the revised Terms on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
